Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Biography

Laura joined MacConvilles as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and is currently completing a Master’s in Quantity Surveying at the University of the Built Environment. With experience across both pre‑contract and post‑contract stages, she brings strong technical skills in measurement, tender management, cost planning, and value engineering, as well as expertise in change control and financial reporting.

She has worked on a range of higher education projects, including refurbishments of Grade I listed buildings, the installation of sustainable features such as living walls, and the conversion of historic libraries into modern learning spaces. These projects have given her valuable insight into listed building conservation, art preservation, and the complexities of planning conditions.

Her professional background also includes roles in operations and conservation, where she developed skills in compliance, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. This breadth of experience has equipped her with excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project-management skills, which she now applies in her career in quantity surveying.
