Lorica Trust Barn

MacConvilles were so pleased their pro bono services in Project Managing the planning and construction of a new Scandia Hus timber frame Centre were recognised at the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards 2021.

The Lorica Trust works with vulnerable and marginalised children and young people, helping to rebuild self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief through land-based activities.

Working to help expand their offering at East Clayton Farm we joined the project team early on, helping to grow and evolve the simple initial design into this award winning facility.

Achieving more than expected with additional meeting room, kitchen, WC’s  changing facility and offices the design retains the connected, family feel —  which underpins the delivery style of the work they undertake.

This building means the Trust can now provide more opportunities for many more vulnerable and marginalised children enabling them to not only gain an academic qualification but also build self esteem and belief through the land based activities that they participate in.
