Phoenix Gallery – Rising in Brighton
25th September 2014
The Phoenix Gallery in Brighton is enjoying a bright and bold facelift thanks to the completion of recent Phase I repair and renovation works specified by MacConvilles Surveying.
Through both their Chartered Building and Chartered Quantity Surveying teams they oversaw the concrete repairs and the application of an anti-carbonation coating to the facades, refurbishment of the metal framed windows and redecoration of the Phoenix Gallery building. Toby Rollestone, Director of MacConvilles Surveying explained: ‘Previous surveys indicated that the windows were unsafe. We were delighted to provide a solution where the windows could be refurbished, saving the client a considerable amount of money.’
The works were carried out by Structural Renovations. Philip Naylor, Director of RH Partnership Architects, who designed the new colour scheme for the former 1970s office building, said: ‘The new exterior colour and their arrangement reflect the vibrancy of the building and its inhabitants’.
Phase II will continue to see the rise of the Phoenix with the planned refurbishment of the foyer and gallery.
