Starting a new job can be daunting, and when that new role is a departure from your previous experience, it can feel like an even steeper learning curve. At MacConvilles, we understand the challenges of stepping into uncharted territory. That’s why our graduate pathways are designed to provide the support, opportunities, and resources needed to help our team members thrive in their roles and grow within the construction industry.
We’re proud to celebrate the journey of one of our newest team members, Hanna. With a background in design, Hanna’s brought a fresh perspective, a sharp eye for detail, and a solid commitment to our CDM (Construction Design and Management) team. We’re delighted that Hanna trusted us to support her on this journey and to help her find her footing in a fast-paced and rewarding industry.
In Hanna’s Words: A New Beginning
“I have absolutely loved these first few months of being here. I’ve learned so much, and I think I’ve picked it up fairly quickly with my design brain. The team has been lovely and incredibly accommodating, allowing me to work from home and in the office. Being in the office is always enjoyable; there’s a great balance between everyone focusing on their work and fostering a sense of community. I always feel supported and know I can ask anyone my questions.
One of the most exciting parts of my role has been going on-site visits. It’s been fascinating to see how different projects are managed, what makes them unique, and where they overlap. Recently, I started going on-site visits on my own, which was a big step for me. This milestone showed that the company and my team trust me to handle responsibilities independently and are eager to help me grow within my role.
It has been a steep learning curve, but I’ve learned more about the construction industry than I ever expected. I’ve gained insight into how critical it is for contractors and clients to comply with regulations to keep everyone safe. It’s been rewarding to understand my role better and to contribute to ensuring workplace safety.”
A Journey of Growth and Achievement
At MacConvilles, we’re committed to fostering an environment where our team members can grow, contribute, and succeed. Hanna’s story is a testament to what’s possible when new talent is nurtured and supported. By combining her design expertise with her newfound knowledge of construction and safety compliance, she’s already making a tangible impact on our projects.
We believe that investing in people is one of the most important things we can do as a company. From site visits and one-on-one mentoring to flexible working arrangements, we’re dedicated to providing opportunities that empower our team members to take ownership of their careers and make a difference in the industry.
