Prior to starting at MacConvilles in February, Jay earned his Quantity Surveying stripes at a national consultancy, gaining experience on large mixed-use regeneration, residential, and civils projects. After 5 years, he fancied a challenge and a change of environment, without the commute to London, so started looking locally.
‘MacConvilles have some very interesting projects in the pipeline, a talented and experienced team, and a great client retention rate. I think that would be enough to win most over, but they’ve also got a very progressive attitude with education and training, meaning staff are truly up to speed with current and future market trends, and that really appealed to me.’
Jay also studies at the University of Brighton part-time and is hoping to receive his degree in Project Management for Construction later this year, sitting for chartership with the RICS as soon as practicable after that. Outside of work and when not studying, you’ll likely find him on the beach or the downs, making the most of our city’s beautiful location.
