Holdenhurst Retirement Community.

MacConvilles were delighted to be appointed to deliver a brand new retirement community offering independent supported  living in the South Downs.

This extra care development of 48 affordable rental apartments has been designed and built to enable active, independent living in retirement years and beyond.

It is expected that the number of over-85s in the UK is set to increase from 1.6 million in 2018 to 3 million by 2043 and a development such as this is designed to provide companionship and independent living, improving health and well-being whilst offsetting costs, making it a more accessible and affordable option.

Our Quantity Surveying team risk-managed the procurement, advised on contractual arrangements and liaised with the funder to help create a modern, welcoming environment of communal spaces, spacious private living areas and impressive facilities, creating a home and community to meet residents every need.

To allow for early occupation for residents and revenue return for the client, MacConvilles implemented a phased construction. In the closing stages, further support was provided by our Building Surveying team through the final stage snagging and handover period to ensure the completed project met the highest standards and exceeded the client’s expectations
