MacConvilles Surveying is proud of the relationship it has with the University of Brighton. Working with the Estates Team we have refurbished, repaired and upgraded many of the University’s buildings including the Book and Bean.
Located on the mezzanine of the Cockcroft building the Book and Bean cafe links the library and academic areas. Over the years, it had become underused and in need of complete refurbishment. Using the multi-disciplinary services offered at MacConvilles Surveying the roles of Project Manager,
Our team carefully managed the project overseeing the safe removal of asbestos whilst ensuring that any disruption was kept to a minimum. The building remained operational throughout and was completed to a tight time frame ready to welcome back students returning from summer break.
The full demolition of the existing café and installation of a bespoke kitchen, preparation area and serving counters now offers students a modern and welcoming space to meet, relax and grab a coffee.
Many of the MacConvilles staff spent their student days on the campus, gaining their degrees before starting their surveying career. This connection continues today with the work experience and support that MacConvilles offers the university’s surveying students.
‘It is always a pleasure to revisit the campus and a privilege to remain connected to the university’s continuing development’. Toby Rollestone, MacConvilles Director.
