The Meeting House, The University of Sussex
The University Meeting House is one of the original buildings of the University of Sussex. Designed by Sir Basil Spence the building occupies a central position on campus and provides a focal point for student, staff and visitors. The unique structure comprising of copper, reinforced concrete and stained glass is well deserving of its Grade II* listing and a building we are proud to have serviced over the years.
From a full internal refurbishment and installation of a disability access lift to the full external refurbishments and roof repair our specifications for the Meeting House detailed traditional designs and repairs, sourcing local skilled craftsmen to ensure that all work was to MacConvilles standard of quality whilst remaining true to Spence’s original vision.
MacConvilles have enjoyed a long-standing and positive working relationship with the University of Sussex since the early 1990s. Our Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Project Management Services are proud to have worked on campus caring for many of their iconic Listed buildings.
