Astrophysics Laboratory Completed

Aged offices and seminar space at the University of Sussex have been rebuilt and refurbished by MacConvilles Surveying to form new laboratory space with moving walls, dark rooms and new gallery steps to a roof top observatory.

In occupied areas MacConvilles Surveying prepared the Client brief to form the new accommodation advising on the choice of materials and furniture required to create large open plan laboratories that could be subdivided as student numbers or class sizes required.  Trespa lab benching was designed to maintain the ability to move and alter layouts, being mounted on lockable castor wheels with a mix of detachable service ports to allow easy connection and disconnection as required.

Managing the works from the MacConvilles Building Surveying Team the project was constructed by A & F Pilbeam who managed to complete the works on programme and within budget.
