Last month MacConvilles celebrated the long service of several of it staff at Shoreham Port and Carrats Cafe Bar. And our afternoon jolly of coffee cake and a harbour cruise was not dampened by the lack of summer weather.
We have been busy welcoming new members to the fold in recent months. However this day was about recognising the hard work of the company’s long standing stalwarts.
This year Anita celebrated 16 years in the MacConvilles Family:
‘MacConvilles supported and encouraged me to gain a degree and professional recognition (ICIOB, RMaPS). I really enjoy being part of our technical team doing interesting and varied work’.
Celebrating 15 years, Director Toby Rollestone reflected on the many changes seen during his career. ‘When I started working initially as an architects technician it was all pen and ink. Recently at MacConvilles we have invested in Revit. 3D based designs enable our clients to visualise their project and have proved so invaluable that we no longer work in 2D’
Sharing his thoughts on the construction industry in post Brexit Britain he commented, ‘long term the impact remains to be seen. However anyone in construction understands it’s cyclical nature. We are well versed in riding its peaks and troughs. Many opportunities are there for the taking, such as those for our UK manufacturers, designers, suppliers and overseas investors. There is also much we can do to mitigate challenges that may arise by embracing new ways of working, for example BIM and Life Cycle Costing’.
Our support services team have been at the forefront of our IT development with Sharepoint and championing our drive to become a paperless office and Roni, one of the team celebrated 10 years with us. ‘It’s great to be part of this evolving and expanding Company. Welcoming new faces and embracing advances in technology ensures the working day is always varied and interesting.’
