In our 80th year Surveying the South we wanted to thank the community that has helped us achieve this success by giving a little back.
One dark winter Monday morning MacConvilles staff and directors met and our #GivingBack plan was conceived. What better way to say ‘Thank you’ than to donate 80 hours of our surveying services to the local community. We are proud to confess that our Surveying teams did not stick to the 80 hours budget. In fact they exceeded them quite considerably! Let us share with you what we have been up to.
MacConvilles Surveyors Kit Out The Kitchen
Our year got off to a flying start when the Food Partnership asked us for some help. When we heard about the plans they had to create a Community Kitchen we couldn’t wait to get involved. Calling on a few of our friends to form a dream team our Quantity Surveying team managed the project efficiently, delivering a kitchen fit for budding chefs. The Food Partnership is now able to provide low-cost or free cooking courses. They currently run sessions for those on limited incomes or with health issues.
A Maternity Bereavement Suite for Brighton.
Next to benefit from our #GivingBack pledge was a project which we were all truly moved by. Abigail’s Footsteps, a national stillbirth bereavement charity wanted to create a bereavement suite in the local maternity unit for parents. This became possible when MacConvilles introduced the charity to Novus and a competition they were running to support community projects. With Novus on board and our donation of Project Management, Design and Surveying services the suite was soon a reality.
We are pleased to have been a part of such worthwhile project and hope the new facility will help provide a little relief for those experiencing such devastating loss.
